New recessed lights

One of the things I like about the new Airstreams is the interior lights.

Sleek, contemporary recessed lights that you would expect in a modern home. So, this was a must in my Airstream. And surprisingly, pretty easy to install once I figured out where to locate them. Best of all, each light only cost me $6!

I planned this out for weeks before I made that first cut into the interior aluminum skin. It's not like drywall that you can just replace or patch. The fixtures won't take a permanent place in the ceiling until I paint.

New roof vents

I removed the original vents and the light kits attached to them. They were nasty. One had a full bird's nest (or, maybe a rat's). The others had numerous wasp nests. Amazingly, all the fans still work. I am replacing them with Fantastic Fans. I hear these are the shiznit. They definitely look cool and their smoked, semi-transparent domes will help bring in light. No more light kit means I gain an extra 4 inches or so of headroom.
